Hotel was in a quiet residential street. Some rooms are better than others. Grocery store next door is convenient.

Hotel room was nice, clean and comfortable. Halls and common areas needed updating and paint. Location was great - away from the tourist, crowds, and beggers. Yet in walking distance to Effel tower, shopping and restaurants. Metro system across the street. With the exception of one hotel clerk they were all very friendly and helpful. Maids came in and cleaned room even when we asked them ot to and had the do not disturb sign out. Thought that was a intrussion. Everything considered I would stay here again.

For the high price I would have thought the breakfast was included, but the room was clean and the bathroom updated.

This hotel was chosen due to its proximity to the Eiffel Tower, and we (2 adults & 2 children aged 6 & 10) weren't disappointed as it was only a few minutes walk to the park from which you had a clear view of the tower & it was a max 10 minute walk to being directly under it. The hotel is situated in a tree lined avenue & from our family bedroom we could see the Eiffel Tower. Breakfast is served from 6:30, but I can't comment on its quality as we chose to buy breakfast (croissants,cheese & fruit)from the supermarket next door & eat it in the park (recommended), however the food looked perfect & the breakfast room is light & airy. The family room consisted of 2 double beds, it was clean & tidy, & the bathroom was spotless. Towels were also changed daily. Overall the hotel was rated 3* & for this reason we rate the hotel as excellent. There are cafes/restaurants situated in the avenue & also in the surrounding streets. On average a one course meal, with 4 drinks & 1/2 litre of wine cost between 75 & 100 euro.

This hotel was great for 2 adults and two teenage girls. I wish the comforters had not been quite so dingy, but other than that...no complaints! Nice big bathroom, big room, seperate toilet area, good air conditioning and close to the subway.

Spent a weekend in Paris with my family and enjoyed the hotel. The small grocery store was nice and we were able to buy milk for our young girls. The lift (elevator) was small but I was expecting that in Paris. The metro station was only a 2 minute walk and we were able to get where we wanted pretty fast. About a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and Seine River.

The location of the hotel as well as the room with 3 beds worked out perfectly for us. The bathroom had been refurbished and was quite nice. The room was a little small but we expected that and overall were happy with our selection. The staff was not very friendly and could be more gracious.

great hotel, great location

We spent 7 days at the Hotel De La Bourdonnais. The hotel met our expectations and is just a block from a metro station. The room was clean and stocked with towels daily. However, the air conditioning was down and they said they were hoping it would be fixed in a week! Staff was unable to get reservation for a restaurant even though we supplied the number! The Paris shuttle, that was set up by the staff, was a disaster. It took three hours to get from the airport to the hotel on a Thurs evening. The driver almost hit a pedestrian who hit the van with his hand. Our driver left the van with the engine running and two passengers in the middle of the street and proceeded to push the pedestrian into a table filled with diners at a local cafe. He spent the next 20 minutes trying to extricate himself from the the 10 people who took offense and also from the drivers of three cars that were blocked from moving down the road. Despite my concerns the hotel staff again booked this shuttle for our pick up and they were 30 minutes late! Unfortunately the same driver showed up and decided he had to make two additional stops before delivering us to the airport. We barely made our flight. I would recommend this hotel however, I would not count on the staff for assistance and would set up my own shuttle.

Location is really close to the Eiffel Tower. Staff is really nice and speak english well. They also understand broken French and aren't rude about it! Romm was clean.

This hotel is very close to the Eiffel Tower and metro stop (Ecole Militaire). We were treated well by the staff who were able to answer all our questions (in English). The room was different because the toilet was across the room from the rest of the bathroom, including sink. That didn't bother us. We are pretty cheap when it comes to hotel rooms and this room was spacious compared to many we have stayed in. The elevator is incredibly small. The three of us were cozy in it, but I'm not sure we could have fit our luggage in there with us. Our room was on the second floor, so we took the stairs after our first trip up. There are two grocery stores within half a block in each direction so we had a good cheap supply of food. There was a refrigerator in the room.

We just loved our hotel! My husband and I traveled with our two boys, 9 and 11 and found our accomodations small, but, perfect for us, clean and practical. The entire staff was super helpful, courteous and sincere. They have a beautiful and very cozy library with easy internet access and perfect for gathering as a family to reminice on the days events. The hotel is super central, safe and just walking distance from the Eiffel Tower and the Rue Cler. There is even a small neighborhood grocery store right next door for picnic items or anything at all. Would definetly return for another visit.

Great hotel for our family, this was our first time in Paris. This hotel was just perfect close to the Eiffel tower and a Metro station. Took the advice of others and skipped the hotel breakfast, found a great bakery close by and the grocery store is right next door. Would stay here again the only problems are minor small towels and lumpy beds. Nothing you wouldn’t find at a roadside hotel in the U.S. staff made up for any problems.

We loved this little spot! The grocery next door was very useful and the Eiffel tower is literally outside your front door. The hotel faces a quiet street but is in a bustling Paris neighborhood. The metrostop that gets you to the airport is a 5 minute walk, so you don't have to switch trains a lot if you don't want to. Breakfast was a bit pricey but plentiful if you want to eat there. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful to non-French speakers! Have recommended this hotel to many travelers!

Hotel is old but well maintained. We love the location of this hotel. Very close to eiffel tower. There's a supermarket next to the hotel. Bus stop and metro are 3 minutes walking distance. Restaurants are everywhere with good price. Hotel charged 13euro for breakfast buffet but only covered coffee/tea and bread. There are better restaurants with good prices around the corner. Overall, we're satisfied with our stay in the hotel.

We just returned from a 2 week European trip. We spent 4 nights at this hotel in Paris. Our first impression was not good. It looked kind of run down. The hallways are in need of repair. But our room was nice. It was large by Paris standards. The bathroom was great. Service was good; as was the breakfast. It was clean and the location was great. We would stay there again. Metro was just a block away. Using the Metro is the way to go! Don't miss Musee de Orsay, it is great! Largest collection of Monet's works in the world. Everyone visits the Louvre, Orsay is even more spectacular. Normandy beaches are also worth the trip!

Extremely satisfied with the hotel.It is renovated and very clean. I arrived at 7 am and they took my luggage and kept it till night when I came back and checked in. The location is perfect-so close to the Eiffel tower as well to subway,train station and all major sightseeings.There is free internet in the lobby as you can use their PC. I was very surprised the pictures from the website were exactely like the hotel rooms. Will hightly reccommend the hotel.

Hotel is in great location: walking distance to Eiffel Tower, river boat ride to get to different attractions, subway station, nice neighborhood, shops in Rue Cler, near the park. We chose it because it is hard to find a room for 3, with a senior parent. Hotel Bourdonnaise has a big room with 3 twins. Bathroom had been remodelled and very new and clean.Was disappointed with the crude interior of public areas, crudely finished and painted walls,narrow hallways, tiny elevator. Can't rate front desk service because we did not ask much as staff did not offer info nor invite questions. There is a small frig which is nice. No coffee maker. When mentioned, staff said we could call and coffee will be delivered. I asked if that was free. Staff said yes but we were charged, and also charged for one breakfast which we did not take. The latter was taken off, but not the coffee. Room service was good. For 2 per room, there could be better deals. For three, seems my choice is limited. Recommendation is conditional upon your needs, price, and expectation. Yes and No.

Myself and my wife found this Hotel to be very good. The staf were very helpfull and very friendly. The Hotel was very close to the shops, bars and the Elffel Tour.

Great location!! Hotel staff needs to inform customers that breakfast is not complimentary. Otherwise, it was a good hotel as it was close to everything.

An old hotel that has updated bathrooms but "tired" rooms. Breakfast over priced for the minimal available-----however, a cup of coffee is expensive in Paris! Great area to walk or use public transportation.

Very nice room, old building, perfect to get the French feeling. Walk to Metro and to the Eiffel Tower. Very safe neighborhood. We had our two children (7 & 5) with us and had no problems. The breakfast that they had was expensive but there is a pastry shop about 5 min. walk from the hotel, perfect fresh French goodies! I would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is very centrally located with the metro just around the corner. Easy access to just about everything. Some of the furniture is a little tired & needs replacing but the beds were very comfortable & the bathroom was vary large & updated. Just 2 blocks behind this hotel is the Rue Cler area which has some inexpensive restaurants with great food. See Rick Steves for his recommendations! We have stayed at this hotel twice & would go back because of the location. It is about 10 minutes to the Seine River & the Eiffel Tower. The front desk was always very helpful & pleasant. This hotel also has excellent A.C. which we didn't have to use this visit in Oct.08 but did use on our last visit 3 yrs. ago in 05.

This is a great location for Paris vacationers and a great value. Although the breakfasts are no longer included, the location and helpful staff make this an ideal hotel for Paris visitors. You are in easy walking distance to the Rue Cler and Eiffel Tower and several good bus stops.

This hotel was outstanding. It completely exceeded our expectations. The rooms are comfortable and have great views. The breakfast in the morning was a great treat for the price. We loved the area that this hotel is located in, perfect place to sit at cafes, walk around shops, or hop on the metro. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is a great example of a small,privately run hotel. It avoids the crowded aloof feeling of so many mega hotel franchises. All the amenities were present, such a in-room safe, refrigerator,spacious closet,hairdryer. Yet it also had the ambiance of being a part of a Paris neighorhood, with great bistros and small supermarkets and the Metro nearby.

The hotel was great. right by the eiffel tower. room was small but we had all the essentials and a great bathroom. It was extremely clean. all the staff spoke english as best as they couldand were extremly nice and helful. they only complain would be that some of the guests were quite loud in the halls and could wake you up if you sleep lightly. the noise from the guests could also be due to that we were above the lobby and none of the guests going up or down had any consideration for the other guests since they were going to the lobby or coming up from it. But as an overall the hotel was great. If you have to eat i would recommend you go to a bistro or cafe though.

Nice room with great location near the Eiffel Tower. There is also a supermarket right next store which is very convenient. Bring your own hair dryer though, the one in the room is not like one I've ever seen before and it does not work well.

My husband, two children(ages 10 and 7) and myself were very happy with this hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were only staying for one night, so we needed to be central. The hotel was only a short walk from the Eiffel Tower and in a quiet road. The breakfast was fine (expensive but so is Paris!). We had a great stay and would go back. Perfect for a family.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and the metro is near by. We stayed for three nights and had a triple room at the back of the hotel which overlooked the courtyard area. The bathroom is clean and it had a bath with a separate shower. All staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.

We arrived after staying in a tiny hotel room in London and were so happy and relieved to stay here! My family of 4 had a full sized room with a refrigerator and bathroom with supplies. The air conditioning was not great, so we slept with the windows open. The daily 7:00 am trash pickup was noisy, but the sound proofed windows cut the noise once we closed them. The location of the hotel is great and we could see the top of the Eiffel Tower from our windows. We will definitely stay here for our next trip!

If you're looking for a hotel to crash at night which is clean and comfortable and spend the rest of the day enjoying the city of lights, this is probably your hotel. The hotel is clean and comfortable with an ornate sitting room and nice breakfast nook. Most of the rooms have small refrigerators in them and decent sized bathrooms for a European hotel. If you are budget-conscious, there is a supermarket literally right next door where one can get fresh fruits and vegetables to make a perfectly good lunch in the room or to take with you. There are many restaurants as well as small little shops to get breakfast and other meals. The breakfast at the hotel is expensive for Americans right now owing to the poor euro exchange rate, but few blocks closer to the Eiffel Tower there are several bread shops that offer coffee, croissant and other baked goods (typical French breakfast) for about a quarter of the cost. The hotel is exactly one block away from a metro station(Ecole Militaire, line 8). For those of you staying more than one or two days getting a metro card and learning the Metro system will save you lots of time and money on cabs (cabs are amazingly hard to find). The hotel does offer a one or two-day passes on a large sightseeing bus but we found with the map provided and a subway map we were able to get to more places faster and less expensive than getting on the bus. The personnel is friendly as long as you wait your turn. All of them speak passable to excellent English and gave several recommendations for good places to go and the best way to go see various places. With a little exploration you will find your way to a residential sector and therefore the cost is less and most restaurants are willing to translate their menu for you if your French is not good enough. A few words of polite French conversation will go a long way to convincing them to help you and show that you're trying.

Outstanding location...3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower. Surrounded by a clean beautiful neighborhood, including the Paris Military School. Nice selection of restaurants and very close to a Metro Station. Our room was large for Paris standards and very comfortable for a family of 4. Friendly and very helpful staff at all hours of the day. A small fridge in the room would have been helpful for keeping a variety of kid snacks and cool drinks readily available.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. We enjoyed everything. From the view that we had of Effeil Tower and great area we were in. Yes the room is small, but quiet. Next door you can find a small suppermarket and about a block away you can find the metro. The staff was very nice and help with all question we had.

Okay: the rooms aren't fancy. But my room was totally comfortable and included a little fridge for the limited essentials I wanted in my room (and the hotel is next door to a market, so picking those up was very convenient). The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was totally fine. The wireless internet service was terrific and I used it throughout (I blogged about my trip each day and posted all my photos to my Flickr stream). The morning breakfast was basic and fresh and just what was needed to get the day started right. The neighborhood is the best part: the hotel is on a lovely, tree-shaded street just blocks from the Eiffel Tower, which I could see the top of from my bedroom window; near the Rue Cler, which is one of the best little streets in all of Paris; literally steps from the Ecole Militaire and its associated Metro stop; and very near to a huge range of American tourist-loving cafes, restaurants and hip, happening hot spots. One last compliment: the staff was lovely. They mostly spoke English and always made me feel good about my broken French. They helped to book tickets, make restaurant reservations and order cabs, always with a smile. And our rooms were always cleaned very well and comfortable to return to after a long day's sight-seeing. If you're the kind of person who uses a hotel to sleep in and stay on top of a little work from, but not much else, this is a very good, very welcoming, and affordable option in one of the best parts of Paris.

Loved this hotel. The location is within sight of the top of the eiffel tower and just around the corner from a tube and a grocery store for picnic supplies. Nice neighborhood, helpful front desk and lovely, lovely big modernized room. Very comfortable beds. Skipped the breakfast, which looked meager (although the atmosphere in the eating area looked like and outdoor market)to eat out and about in this beautiful city.

We enjoyed the large remodeled bathroom. The internet did not work like they said it would so we ended up buying a card so we could use their computer and internet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location to the Metro! Just a short walk to many quaint shops and the Eiffel Tower!
