This hotel was terrible and nothing like the description on hotels.com. It was definitely not a 3.5-star hotel. The first room we were put in was filthy so we asked for a new room. The second one was no better - hair and dirt on the floor, mold in the bathroom, etc. No one at the hotel seemed to care until we told them we were leaving right away - only then did they try to get us to stay. We left anyway and checked into another hotel, which was definitely a great decision. We use hotels.com frequently, and I would definitely not recommend this particular hotel at all.

The hotel stay was a good one until the second night. I was woke up by a female voice outside the door. I did not respond to the call at first. Then, the door was openned without permission. Luckily, I used the safety lock so the person could not enter the room. I was so afraid that I went to the door. The person has left. I then called the front desk asking what was going on. He then told me that the room sent a emergency messgae to the security department, who sent a person to check on my room. But I am seriously doubt that is the case. I do not recommend this hotel because of safety concern.

I stayed for three nights in three different rooms due to overbooking ??? or so I was told... needless to say I was not very happy about it. A very low price only goes so far when you have to deal with such inconvenience.

I stayed with my 3 kids in a spacious room with 2 queen beds (the reservation said king beds). During our stay (July 2009), there is a lot of construction going on in the surrounding area, making access to the hotel inconvenient; moreover, the hotel gave us the noisy room with the discounted internet rate and refused to move us to a quieter room away from the 24 hour construction. Otherwise it was fine. . .

Good: Overall I was satisfied with the hotel. It was in a good location. I got the deluxe room and I was satisfied with it. I thought the staff was very decent and helpful. If they couldn't speak English then they would get someone who can. Bad: 1.) Most of Shanghai is under major construction since they are preparing for a 2010 World Expo. So even if you stayed at a 5 star hotel, you will still experience construction in the area. 2.) I was offered a massage with a happy ending. But I doubt you can avoid that anywhere in the city if you are a tourist.

Can't complain! For the price, it's a great value. Internet connection, good room service, decent restaurant w/Buffet.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in Jan 2009 and it was a bargain because most areas around the the hotel are under construction and the only pedestrian bridge to the Bund (waterfront) has been demolished, so don't expect to walk there or Nanjing Road. Interesting markets (including Qipu Clothing Market and a food market) are a 4 to 5 block walking distance west from the hotel. A restaurant, Starbucks, and mini-mart are next door. The hotel is typical of most Chinese hotels- mediocre rooms and indifferent staff. Our room included breakfast, but the hotel clerks refused this at check-in until I showed them a print out of our receipt and web page identifying this (be sure to do the same). Our original "deluxe" room was on the 14 floor on a corner and was much too loud from construction noise so we asked the hotel to move us and they grudgingly did. Neighboring rooms and the hallway had loud voices and rude guests. Breakfast was good for a Chinese hotel and included an omelet chef. The hotel is fine, the room looked recently remodeled, was clean enough, the bed was soft and not bad, and the hotel was of average quality...just bring earplugs.

Location was not good, construction of jack-hammer went all night. Very little sleep due to the ongoing noise. Attention was brought to the staff and no resolution. Not a warm staff of an international staff. Breakfast did not offer variety of selection.

Good place to stay if you're on a tight budget. Not really that close to the Bund. About a 30 minute walk away. The bathtub/shower drain was clogged, called to have it fixed, they never came. Floors were swept with a broom at best. Carpets were never vacuumed. Staff was nice enough and the food in their restaurants was okay. The morning breakfast buffet was pretty good.

My 13 year old son and I stayed here.The pool was just okay. It could have been cleaner and warmer. Breakfast was not included with our room and as such I felt it was way too overpriced. It was one of the poorer quality buffets I experienced in our travels. So, we bought from local markets and ate continental in our room quite happily. We initially were given a room right next to a building where there was construction first thing in the a.m., but they moved us without any problem upon my dismay.While not convenient to the subway, we loved the neighborhood. It was very convenient to a terrific marketplace, restaurants, massages, and teeming w/ chinese everyday life.The rooms were quite large and comfortable, and we loved the rooftop bar/restaurant. The lobby French bistro looked very inviting.While we didn't eat there, we were served yummy hot chocolate and delicious dessert from the bistro up in the rooftop bar.

For an inexpensive place to shower and sleep at night, this place served it's purpose perfectly. If you want lots of extras or more spacious accommodations, plan to spend more and stay elsewhere. It's not a 5 star hotel, so don't expect it to be one. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, always an added plus for any hotel.

Although advertised as "on the Bund", walking was not realistic due to traffic and construction. Cabs were inexpensive but necessary to go any place. We did find the staff very friendly and accomodating and our room was spacious.

A busy but poor quality hotel with very dark small and unattractive gym facilities. Noone on door to deter beggars accosting people on the way in. Sheet did not even fit over mattress. Inadequate cupboard facilities.

Hotel had a good location and was good value for the cost. View from top floor was spectacular and lots of good small places o eat nearby.

This hotel was located very close to The Bund (River Front). On our last night, we walked to The Bund for the sunset (if you could call it that in Shanghai). The lobby was clean and presentable. The Room (Deluxe Suite) was very spacious. However, the floor was very dirty. My wife and I wore our shoes or the provided slippers at all times in the room. The bathroom was a good size and clean. Our particular bedroom window did not seal tightly and much of the outside main street traffic made it into the room. However, with the windows and curtains closed, we were able to sleep. A friend stayed at the same hotel did not have the same problem with their windows. Not a bad choice for the price, but could use some improvements.

Very Dissapointed with this hotel, although rooms are OK and the location is good, staff are very rude and unhelpful and services I would expect from a hotel are poor. i.e. difficult to change currency etc.

When checking in by phone as confirmation of my arrival, there was no record within reception of my booking. After speaking to various individuals, all with poor English, we eventually found my booking. Reception seemed distracted and inattentive with four operatives attended to only two check-ins. When transferring my baggage, they lost my airport parking documents. When I raised this there was only apathy. The room was as expected although the 'de luxe' views of the river were over exaggerated. The carpet was filthy, never cleaned. The service in the empty main resturaunt was fast and the food very good. Generally, the facilities seemed underutilised by the patrons - may be for reason as they were not being adequately promoted during the stay. No airport limo service.

hotel was nice but getting a taxi was a problem and its in walking distance to eat or shop. hotels that have contracts with taxis stand outside hotel and when you want to go, the taxi pulls up right away. other than that no complaints.

The hotel is out of the way from most of the City. Even though it claims to be close to the Bund, it is far from the scene. Also the space was quite small, more like a hostel than a 4-star hotel as it was ranked.

First of all, we were woke up very early the next morning by the noise from the construction site next to the hotel, then also the noise from the room above that the hotel was doing the remodeling. So we had to switch to a different room two floors above. But we forgot one blackberry charger in the bathroom outlet and did not find it afterwards. Second the air conditioning was not working well in the room.

Das Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage zum Bund und der Nathan Road. Auch Pudong ist gut zu erreichen. Die Sauberkeit ist auffällig. das Personal spricht in den meisten Fällen gutes Englisch. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut.

Hotelet hadde noen mennesker som plaget "alene menn" ganske ofte angående spesielle tilbuder

Vi oplevede kun 2 personer i receptionen der kunne engelsk. Utrolig meget personale der stod i endeløse rækker uden at foretage sig noget. Morgenbuffetten bar præg af dårlig fødevare hygiejne! Forvent desuden en masse larm døgnet rundt, da der bygges og nedbrydes rundt om hotellet. Hotellet ligger i bunden af skalaen på de mere end 30 hoteller jeg har boet på i Kina. Jeg vil ikke vælge det igen!

Leider wird neben dem Hotel gerade ein weiteres Hochhaus hochgezogen. Lärmbelästigung hält sich aber in Grenzen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und üppig. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich.

Prisvärt hotell med bra läge. Nära promenadstråk på the bund och gångavstånd (20 minuter) in till centrum. Helt okej rum och hotell i övrigt. Kul med baren och ustiktplatsen från hotellets tak på 26:e våningen. Helt klart prisvärt och fräscht!

Personalen mycket vänlig och försökte hjälpa till på alla sätt. Bokade utflykt genom hotellets resedisk som fungerade bra. Fick den hjälp vi behövde genom personlen. Engelskan är dålig för att inte säga obefintlig men allt går om man tar det lugnt. 10 min till The Bund att gå är bra, men lite långt till T-bana dock taxi är såååå billigt.

Net hotel met een leuk uitzicht op de 26 ste verdieping Het eten in het restaurant is ralatief duur en de kwaliteit kan beter, in de directe omgeving van het hotel kan men beter en goedkoper eten. De kamer die wij hadden was aan de kleine kant ben in ander hotels groter gewend. Voor de rest een prima service en is dit hotel gezien de prijs zeker aan te bevelen.

In the middle of a red light district and very disgusting both inside the rooms and outside the hotel. Not a great deal event htough it is cheap. However, good placement near the bund and only a few meters from a good coffeshop..

Un très bon hôtel que je recommande vivement.

Meine Frau und ich wollten eigentlich nur vier Naechte bleiben, durch das Schneechaos wurden dann 6 daraus, was wir nicht sehr bedauert haben. Das Zimmer war klein aber zweckmaessig und gemuetlich. Das Chinesische Restaurant in der 2. Etage ist zum Abendessen sehr zu empfehlen und nicht zu teuer. Das Fruehstuecksbuffet ist fuer den Preis von 88 RMB/Person zu einfallslos. Man sollte sich morgens also besser in der Umgebung umsehen. Ein EC-Automat und ein Buero zum Buchen von Fluegen sind im Foyerbereich. Trinkwasser in Shanghai ist trinkbar aber stark gechlort. Tee schmeckt besser wenn man ihn mit Mineralwasser bereitet (2 kl. Flaschen werden taeglich ins Bad gestellt). Wer ueber Hotels.com gebucht hat und laenger bleiben moechte sollte die Verlaengerung auch im Internet buchen (niedrigerer Preis). Internetanschluss gibt es im Zimmer. Wer kein Laptop hat kann im Erdgeschoss den Internetservice nutzen.

Gute zentrale Lage zum Bund tolle Bar im 26. Stock mit Blick auf den Bund und nach Pudong Die Lautstärke in den Hotelzimmern war akzeptabel das Frühstück war nicht gut, sollte durch ein Frühstück bei Starbucks ausgetauscht werden.

Das Hotel ist zwar sehr zentral gelegen, hat dadurch aber auch eine unglaubliche Geräuschkulisse durch den Straßenverkehr. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein aber wenn man sich nur zum Schlafe und Dusche dort aufhält, reicht es auf jeden Fall.

Dieses Hotel ist für shanghaineulinge nur zu empfehlen. Gerade touristisch ist alles bestens zu fuß und weiteres per taxi zu erreichen. Voll zufrieden. Für den Preis eine super Leistung!
